Joint Submission on Medical Laboratory Technology
The profession of medical laboratory technology was invited to submit recommendations for changes in scope of practice to enhance interprofessional collaboration and assist members to work to the maximum of their scope of practice. A joint submission was made by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO); Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT) and Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).

To facilitate discussion regarding the scope of practice review for the profession of medical laboratory technology, HPRAC has developed the following documents:
Responses to Joint Submission on Medical Laboratory Technology
Individuals and organizations have responded to the submission made by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO); Ontario Society of Medical Technologists (OSMT) and Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) (the Joint Submission) concerning the scope of practice of medical laboratory technology. Responses received by HPRAC are posted on the HPRAC website; however, HPRAC reserves the right to delete personal information to meet its obligations under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, R.S.O 1990, Chapter F.31.
The responses to the joint submission are intended to provide comment and analysis of the proposals made by the OPLC, and to present information that will assist in the review, and in the consideration of advice that HPRAC provides to the Minister. Responses are available in the language in which they are received, and will not be translated from English to French or French to English.
